Hi! I’m Jess
Bridging people and technology through empathy, communication, and curiosity.
Hi, I’m Jessica McClure, an educator, communicator, and lifelong learner based in Lexington, Kentucky.
I’ve built my career at the University of Kentucky, where I help bridge the gap between technology and human connection. My work focuses on making IT more approachable through clear communication, meaningful outreach, and a deep understanding of how people learn and retain information. Whether I’m guiding students through a cybersecurity event or helping faculty adopt new tools, I’m most at home when I’m helping others feel confident with technology.
My teaching philosophy is grounded in curiosity and empathy. I believe people learn best when they feel valued, supported, and free to explore their ideas. I design learning experiences that invite participation and make space for creativity, where every question matters and every learner feels capable.
Outside of work, I’m a photographer, gardener, and proud Kentuckian who loves quiet mornings, good coffee, and time with family. These small moments keep me grounded and remind me why human connection, not technology itself, is at the heart of every good learning experience.
